| Delhi is known all over India as well as abroad for its extreme summers and winters. The Indian capital city of New Delhi remains hot and humid during the summer season (March-June) and is extremely cold during the winter season (October-February). The average temperature of New Delhi ranges from 25°C to 46°C during summer and 5°C to 20°C during winter. The cold wave from the Himalayan region, which sweeps through Srinagar and Shimla, make up the chilly weather hovering around in New Delhi in winters. In summers, the immense heat wave in New Delhi demands adequate precaution against heat stroke and nose bleeding.
However,
the best time to visit Delhi is in October-November and in February-March, when the nights are cool and the days filled with mellow sunshine. December and January can be a little gloomy in Delhi while mid-summer (May, June and July) is very hot with temperatures over 45C; it is a dry heat and is sometimes accompanied by dusty desert winds. Most of the rain falls between July and September but they are not the tropical rains you'll experience in India's coastal cities.
